Interesting Ishapore 2A and 2A1 observation

So I went thru 13 pages of "Indian" threads on this forum and never saw any mention of what was recently discovered locally on both a 1964 2A and a 1965 2A1.

Has anyone ever before noted that both the bolt face and chamber of their 2A or 2A1 are hard chromed?

    Regards

No it isn't, these are both matching number Indian 2A/2A1 SMLE type rifles...which have hard chromed chambers and bolt faces.

I've noticed the chromed chambers as a standard feature. Never noticed a hard chromed bolt face, though.

Usually the chamber mouths are a bit chipped, it seems!

I find it odd, because the Indian "L4" Bren barrels and "IA1" FNs I've seen dated in the 1970s don't...

Maybe because of their experience with the 2A1s?
