    Love to shoot em

So I know there are a lot of collectors here and that's great! but I just love to shoot those old mausers, I am truly amazed at the capabilities of these rifles,
now I wouldn't try a 1000 yard shot, but a 36" gong @ 500 yards is a reality with these things and fun as heck.
I have an M48A, an M24/47 and an M98k and they all shoot pretty much the same 3"-5" @ 100 off hand with a 1907 style sling.
I can say that non of my milsurps have never tasted milsurp ammo under my ownership, only my hand-loads.

I have shot my Gew98 in 1-2 matches. The rear sight gets very hot and the sight will not move when hot. But fun gun for sure.

Have 3 Mauser's, and they all shoot very well, probably better than I am capable of at longer distances { my 64 year old eyes, ain't what they used to be !! Great old guns, and love 'em .

All my Mausers are very accurate and I'm in the same boat as Roofuss. Even my Mod. 71 carbine is very accurate at 200 yards. I'd shoot further, but that is the limit of my range.

    1909 Carbine

My latest find, a 1909 Argentineicon Cavalry Carbine in 7.65x53, and it's a shooter 4"@ 100 yds off hand with Prvi 180 grn SP spitzers, recoil is impressive but easily managed in the carbine.
