A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. After a lot of digging:

M87 Serial No 01799C, went to North Wales Police UK icon

on the 3-7-87 , fitted with a Pecar scope Serial No A11851 , shooting a 10 shot group @ 100yds of 17.6mm.

It's a nice looking rifle. I see it's now wearing a Leupold Vari-X III 6.5x20. I wonder what happened to the original Pecar? IIRC it's predecessor M87 no. 01798C sold in January this year in the U.K.

I wonder if that started it's life with the Police too?

Hi Gil,

Can you help with any info on M82s? Serial numbers Z71230 and R31350 - some kit with them, Kahles ZF69 and ZF84, detachable irons, PH bipod, wooden butt extensions, etc. The "Z" has Birmingham proofs for what I think is 1981 but so far can't date the BNP mark on the "R".
