Amazing thank you so much. The scope and barrel currently on it aren’t original then. Sadly no transit case either.

Is there not a ban on releasing ex-police firearms to the public? So would these ex-police M85s have been released before then, similar to the ex-Bedfordshire and ex-Durham AI PM rifles? This particular M85 isn’t even in the UK at the moment but I’m arranging for it to be brought back.

I'm not sure regarding the rules and when they changed.

I assume in much the same way as some L42's went off to the US and had to be re-imported. Certainly these days, all government furnished firearms are either destroyed, or end up shooting at Orcs in the Ukraine as part of an aid package.
