By serial number the rifle you're referring to will be a Youville castings 1200 type action with the m84/85/86 screwed on bolt release.

So a Mauser 98 commercial action with the Midland style bolt stop.

Basically a Midland with an M98 bolt instead of a 1903 bolt.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Many thanks.

Having done some closer inspections, it is a Parker Hale Scout with some home modifications, in .308

Interesting I ran across that same rifle in my travels today- strange that PH seems to have used that serial number sequence with both the mauser style ejector block and the Midland style.

Hi Roy, no entry for C-06571 in the surviving factory records unfortunately mate.

    Parker Hale 00354F

    Hi Gil,

Can you please let me know if you have any information on PH M85 00354F? I have recently acquired 00225F and it came with a range test certificate dated 19/05/1989. There seems to be very little information on rifle number 00225F and I am hoping that maybe 00354F may shed some light on this. Maybe they went off to the same place and the test certificates got mixed up.

    Wait to hear.

    Many thanks

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Bear with me, I'll check the records when I'm back in my office.

    Info available on 00225F

00225F Date of build 28TH SEPTEMBER 1987 Test target 17.7MM GROUP @100 YARDS 10 ROUNDS JUNGLE CAMO HOME SALE UKicon No scope mentioned

There is no mention of 00354F but these records aren't a complete archive as we regularly say.

That said, serials very close to this are listed as date of build 18th July 89 and sale to Navy Arms

    Hope that helps, cheers John
