I saw the movie tonight. Don't quite understand what all the roobah is about. They had three carbines, one Thompson, one M1icon, one #4 rifle and an assortment of .45s including one 1917 revolver and a Webley I think. Considering there was only about 7 of them the weapons TOE was about right. They're a second line unit so carbines would be the dress of the day. At one point you can see George Clooney wearing a D bale helmet...? Neat! The straps are hideous though. Most of the 1916 holsters are obviously made for the movies, two M1 rifles on the shoulders of GIs loading a truck are definitely cast rifles...the Germanicon speaking driver they procure has a high hump gas cylinder lock on his M1...Let's not get into mistakes on the German equipment and uniforms...

Already knowing the story, I'd like to have that part of my life back if I could...that hour and 45 minutes...not a plausible story line at all. Old fat guys recruited to do a job they actually had young combat age men do...Clooney directed it...
    Regards, Jim
