    My M1's

    Being new I thought I would share what brings me to the forums. Here are my 2 M1icon's both SA the top is July 42 the bottom is April 45.

    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.     I feel the same way about the ones under 1 mil. It took me along time to get my hands one. This was a stripped receiver when i got it so it was more gratifying building it up.

    I was lucky, mine was a LL but I found it in a gun shop in my town in 1976. First one I had actually had hands on. 328219 SA...all correct. Was that ever a lucky grab...since then I've had lots of low numbers, but none in the shape of my first.

    That is nice looking. I do prefer the manganese park but there is something to be said about that grey/greenish finish you see a lot on the low numbers.

I knew there was something different, even at age 18 or so. Just had to wait for the internet to find out what it was...here's a few more of it...
