Bulk supplies always the way to go

So Chuck, do you mostly do the Manganese Phosphate process, or do you do Zinc and Iron also?

I am looking at getting you to do some newer looking gray to light black finish work, and some very dark black finish work (i.e. Early 1903 Receiver, and later M1icon type stuff)

I would be interested in knowing how you accomplish the two appearances, i.e. do you use Manganese and Iron batches or all Manganese with different processes for the darkness level?

Irco Lube by Mangill Chemical was the absolute best stuff I ever used but when they were bought out by PPG Irco Lube was discontinued. E-Phos 360 by EPI is what I'm using now. Took some diddling around to find the right concentration but it works well. Now I find out that EPI has discontinued E-Phos. Would be interested in hearing your experience with Parco Lubrite 2 and where you purchased it and cost.

When we did park, it would usually come out basic grey. A good US color grey. If we wanted a bit black, we'd add steel wool and railway spikes and such. Just put it in with Bailing wire and let it sink. The steel wool was consumed and the whole bath required some cleaning after a bit but it would come out nice and black.
