I have 5,629287
These Winchesters stand out like a sore thumb because of the sights and type 2 band.

Dave,
The 5,8 I have the ugly pictures of has a 'Long Barrel Channel Stock'
I believe it to be the original stock.
No matter who comments.... or what particular book states, It will stay in that stock.
Nice BTW, Always liked that Carbine, Beautiful CC stamp.
Also always liked the picture Inland44 has of his Inland pictured on his deck.
Do you remember back a long time ago when BUBBA from Savannah had a pile of carbines that looked like Pick Up Sticks?
I'll get back later Weds. Currently busy selling off some xtra HG's.
Thanks to all for the 'Sun Shine'
It's been a fun post.

Great pics! I wish I could take pics like that out in the sunshine/natural light, but I live in an
apartment complex in the city. If I tried the cops would be all over me in 2 minutes!

Dave & Rangemaster, my Winchester also hangs out in Northern California. On occasions it can be seen at a local range being given some exercise by KiloBravo. This place is a hotbed of Winnies, must have something to do with the Winchester Mystery House.

Winchester Stock Projects
I'm progressing with my Winchester stocks in restoration/refinish. The attached pictures show all four stocks, the top stock is the one shown previously on the Winchester action. This is a keeper.
Counting from the top stocks 2-4 are in progress. Stock 2 is linseed oil finish, 3 is Tung Oil and I haven't decide on what finish for number 4.
Since 2 is almost done I decided to see what it would look like married up with Winchester action. I've included pictures of that marriage.
2-4 will eventually find a new home but it's tough letting them go because you tend to get an attachment to your work.
Oh well, it's a pleasant way to spend my time between Range outings.
