    Remington Model 37

I found a Remington model 37 and I have a question on value. The gun was made in Feb 1948, has original sights ( Parker Hale receiver sight, redfield front sight ), it does not have the 5 round clip but does have the single shot adapter. DOES NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL STOCK. The metal condition is 98% of original blue. They are asking $800. Is this to much? Thanks Steve

With sights, this is about ball park, assuming that the rest of the rifle is mechanically good. A Rem 37 is an excellent target 22 LR rifle assuming good barrel. If the rifle has the Canjar trigger, which allows trigger weight adjustment below that of the period factory (about 3.0 pounds) than that is an excellent price.

Rem37's are uncommon on the firing line, apparently they were never very common, aftermarket parts have dried up on these things, while the action is very thick & stiff, fast firing pin fall, big loading port, all characteristics conducive for excellent accuracy, you don't see many of them on the firing line. Too bad, but, the market changed.

This is a target I shot with an all original M37 in small bore competition at 50 yards,

This is a 400-32 I shot with the same rifle at 100 yards.
