    Can't Id Code

I have a 98 Mauser that appears to be Germanicon. The action is stamped j 47. I have heard that it may have been manufactured by Sauer. Can anyone help please.

    Possibly 147 ??

I think you may be misreading 147

147 was a mark used by Sauer & Sohn, in Suhl

Is the mark worn or damaged? How about a photo?

I took another look and it is 147 rather than J47. Thanks for correcting me.
