When Did R Marked Type I Frt Sights Come In To Use?

I see what Riesch has printed, but is he correct?

Were R made/marked in use by early... say first quarter of 1943?

Have any seen original Rock Ola carbines with 3 weld spot Type IA bands?
    Unmarked band and swivel?

    TIA,

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Neidner lost their Inland contract in 9-44 and Rudy started furnishing front sights to Inland late 44 and are found on Inland barrels with a 45 date. These are the only type 1 front sights I know of marked with an R.

    Thank You Bubba,
I had seen a R marked Type I Frt Sight on this Rock Ola barrel, that looked to have never been filed down. Then memory about the R marked sights..... seemed to fall in line with your opinion.
I don't recall ever seeing a 3 weld band on a early RMC, just 2 weld. But you don't run across many RMC's in my neck of the woods.

    Any thoughts on this? :

P.S. Will be in the Savannah and Parris Island area mid May.

Rock-Ola used some R marked sights in it's first serial number block.....BUT the R was stamped on the front of the sight not on the rear.
