    Surplus 303 Ammo Question

A local auction has 600 rounds of 303 in a wooden case going up for sale tomorrow. I called and the lady said the markings on the case were ASL 1950 303 BBR. I looked around online but haven't found anything about ammo marked "ASL". Is anyone familiar with the markings?
