    Early Underwood on GunBroker

Look at the 19th picture. Does that create any legal issues?

No. His story is just speculation and hearsay. Altering a serial number is a legal issue. Altering that script is not.

However, if that serial number was ever an M2 stamped NFA Underwood then it could very well be exactly that, a huge legal issue.

Can't say that I have ever seen an Underwood hand stamped 2 over 1. And we know they were not machine stamped M2. With some resource material a person could make a strong case for this one.
But altering that area on a high number Inland or Winchester would be a different issue.

Guess we need to grind on them and cut ears off to raise the values. Someone did get a great piece of wood

I am a sucker for nice furniture-it was past parts value unless you had to have the stock, then anything you can afford if nice enough to a point

I'm interested to see it. Do you have a picture of the receiver?
