Sub-Calibre Conversion "Sleeves"

Picked these up last week :

Apparently made in Spain in the 20's for the No1 Mk3, Rifles.

Rifled "bore" and in calibres
4x6 mm Flobert
4mm Zentralfuer RWS

Never seen inserts for these calibres before.

Interesting Alan. Never seen any exactly like that before, although the principle is the same as with the 303/22 (or is it 22/303?) 'conveyors' used on some of the earlier SMLE trainers. The idea is still alive & kicking as someone recently showed me some new made examples chambered for .32" ACP (I think they were made in the US).

Nice find on those inserts.

I once had a German made Erma copy of a PPK that used what appeared to be .32 ACP insert and shot 4mm M20 cartridges.

I had some in .22 for use in a special barrel setup in the .30 cal MG. Looked like a .30 cal round but had the .22 bore. Yes, those are neat...

Saw those too, but didn't bid as I wasn't sure whether they were 'obsolete calibre' or the potential UK FAC implications... They look very nice and a good price I believe!

I'm pretty sure they will be section 1 but until I can sort it out for my FAC they are on a RFD 'ticket'

The ones you speak of Rog, I never had much luck with, more time consuming than anything else trying to get the empty case out of the adapter plus they don't feed etc, that's when I started downloading my ammo ......

The ones in Alan's pics look well made as they will feed from the mag unlike the adapters for .32 ACP as this is just like a spent case. Lothar Walther also make adapters (sub cal adapters) and I,m sure they use a similar round for some of the ones they make for pistol as Al Diehl mentions in his post.

Yes, I was briefly interested in the 32 ACP jobs as using them would have allowed me to shoot Lee Enfields at Wedgenock where full house rifle rounds are verboten. I'm not into lever actions or other pistol calibre carbines so it seemed like it might be a way to go. But in the end I just decided to keep on using my little 22LR CAR15 fun gun instead.

There are some .303 sub cal units been made locally for 7.62 x 25
Works like stink and cheap shooting.

Some testing done at pistol range distances with some early rifles, both the 32 ACP and 32 S&W short can be used. The steel cartridge adopter appears to workout very well in the different rifles
