    Need Advice

I need some advice. I have a friend who told me that a collector friend of his has (had) 7 Stens. The friend died a few years back and the wife wants to get rid of them. I was told they were never registered and I would hate for the ATF to get these via a turn in and be subsequently destroyed. For obvious reasons I don't want to get real close to this. Do you know of anything that can be done legally to help this lady out and maybe save some wonderful pieces of history? I was thinking maybe having them disassembled and sold for parts. I have not seen them so I am going only on what I was told. My friend has seen them. He told me that some had metal stocks and some were wooden.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I would take tools and a cutting torch. Strip them down and cut the receivers with the torch.

    1) Strip off all the parts
    2) The executor of the estate then contacts BATF of the recievers and serial numbers .
If they are registered and on file as his , a tax free transfer can be made to the wife . When done , they can be assembled and sold on form 4s to other persons.
If not , they will be taken and destroyed . The parts can then be sold by her.
If registered but not allowed in her state , they can be transfered to an out of state dealer .
( This happened to me . He owned a Bazooka in NJ ( grandfathered ) When he died , Sarco was going to buy and sell it because all the hiers lived in NJ and NJ no longer allowed them . Sarco also couldn't own it for the same reason , so it had to be sold to LMO , out of state . I got ahold of MG Dave 5 minutes after the LMO sale and bought it from LMO a few minutes later.)
No charges will be filed against the wife as the guilty party ( if there is one ) is gone.
