Lee Enfield 1907 Pattern info wanted

Hi All, I'm new to this website, I've only just gotten this Bayonet, a Lee Enfield 1907 Pattern, it looks in bloody good condition, and the scabbard looks good to, some of the markings i don't understand, all i know is MA stands for Manufacturers Lithgow, any info would be awesome.

Interesting the MA= Lithgow SAF NSW and the OA = Orange Rifle Factory No. 3 NSW Broad arrow acceptance marks 44 = 1944 manufacture looks pretty good there are threads here how to remove rust etc one point always place the bayonet into the scabbard vertically otherwise doing it horizontally you run the risk of piercing the scabbard

CINDERS,, thank you so much for your help, I'll have a look at the posts on how to remove rust, thought it would be around 1944, should go nicely with my 1918 lee enfield 303, but I need the bracket that holds the bayonet, and maybe a full wood stock would be nice.

CINDERS,, Will do, I've been looking through some of the forums, and there are a few that have been ripped off with fakes, or close to paying to much. There are copy's out there made to look old, some are easy to identify, some not so easy. I'll use this forum for ID, before buying any other Bayonets or other edged weapons. This is an awesome website.

You need the full wood if you want to put the nose cap on that the bayonet fits too as it is the end of the forestock, could be a lot of work to turn it back into the military style and then it won't be worth as much due to the work carried out.

+1 Save your pennies and get a decent full wood, all matching rifle for your bayonet. I'm currently restoring 4 SMLE's and 4 P14's and while fun to do, when eventually finished I'll alway prefer the original full wood all matching rifles in my collection. old-smithy, you are right it will take a lot of work, but I may just buy another 303 with full wood stock, and make sure it has the bracket that holds the bayonet in place, there really cheap old rifles, and really good, 303 would have to be one of my favored rifles. Another question I have, are you able to sharpen these bayonets? Or do they leave the factory with a slight edge like my one has, There is also another marking on the wooden handle, it looks to be SIAZ42 or SLAZ42 it's a bit hard to work out in different light angles.

Kiwi, thanks for that, I'll buy a full wood stock 303, the Rifle I have now is a BSA 1918, not a lee enfield as I thought, it looks like one, there are 3 of them in the cabinet, I'll upload some pictures sometime soon. And I'll PM you when I've got a new rifle, for advice, and parts if it needs any. Do you have any pictures of your rifles on this website?
