Unless the photog is standing in another doorway.....bit hard to shoot back with a camera, Aussie war photographer Damian Parer spent a lot of time with US troops eventually being killed whilst with them in the field

So I am looking at the middle bloke with what appears to be a grenade launcher on his carbine and what appears to be a grenade behind his helmet on top of his pack.

One grenade. HE (O.D.) and one smoke streamer (grey).... The guy with the M1 icon

rifle also has a signal in its tube on top of his pack.
