    1893 Trails carbines

I am pretty excited. About five years ago I picked up a strange Lee Metford carbine from a buddy in Newfoundland. Serial number 4. The thing had been abbreviated for use as a 'dory gun', stowed under the gunwhales of a dory fishing boat for shooting seals, sharks and sea monsters. I fitted a sportered cav carbine forearm and have been using it as a bush gun with good results. Took two deer and a bear with it.

Well I just finished up dealing with another chap in Newfoundland for another Lee Metford carbine. Serial number 5. wot are the odds????

Both carbines shown as how they looked before I went to work on them. Resto pics will follow, but I just had to share.

How do I make these pictures display bigger?

    Getting there.

Steamed, cleaned, patched and crack repaired. Third coat of linseed oilicon.
Bore is pristine, headspace is tight, action is slick. I like it!

englishman: One way to get images that will enlarge for viewing is to upload directly from your hardrive using the built in system (click on manage attachments) and see the "sticky" with instructions. Keep individual image size below one meg and it works like a charm.
