Thank you HOOKED ON HISTORY. It's sad in a way, but hearing about others pain in relationships kind of helps me now not to feel I'm the only person to lose their family and to go through this.
Yes, most of my friends are really good friends going back over 20 years. Guys you can count on. I was married 21 years, but it still hurts to be dumped for another 'woman'. (Where to go from there??)

Mine was fooling around with a convicted felon in the US while she was living with me here in Canada. Armed robbery and a record as thick as my service jacket...so, there are other things. But still, sorry to hear of your heartbreak Harlan...I wouldn't see it happen, after all the difficulties you've had in the past half dozen years.

Retrospect and wisdom earned at the school of hard knocks (not to mention having multiple sisters) has let me to the conclusion that where women are concerned there are no answers only questions.
Not a subject I thought I would see here. You have a comrade here. Not in the communist sence of coarse.

Yup, you're correct as usual Jim. My mom passed away little over two weeks ago and it helped me to move on...
My mom helped wife though countless problems, paid for a big wedding, and was even there in the operating room with us when my son was born. Mom was in bad shape for three months and in the hospital the last six weeks. Ex-wife texted me several times asking which hospital and room number, but she didn't visit her one time. My son only visited a couple of times but it really brought her up...
At the graveside ceremony my son showed up, but no ex-wife. Afterwards I was talking to my sister and she told me that ex-wife was there all along sitting in a car about 100 ft. away with 'some woman'
I guess it kind of put me over being a nice guy and I seem to have finally gotten over it all and I'm going to look out for number one now.
Let's move along forward and I hope I didn't stir up any bad memories for anyone.
Best to you all and thanks for the support,
~Harlan
