    Army Twill Khakis - 1960s?

Anyone know of a source for US Army contract numbers for dating? These khakis look like '50s or '60s to me judging by the zipper and label but I'm not sure. I found Navy contract info but haven't seen the same for Army yet.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. It was a fiscal year 1966 contract, which is consistent with the Federal Stock Number. I was unable to get the specific contract from the source I use, partly because I've never done a search for this type item, and the contract number has to be configuered precisly or no results. If there is any more labels, especially with the manufacturer identified, I may be able to provide contract information. But to answer your specific question this item was manufactured on a FY 1966 (1 July 1965 - 30 June 1966) contract.

That doesn't necessarily mean the trousers were actually manufactured during that time period. Sometimes contracts continued and were extended for a few years after it was initially negotiated, so the trousers could have been manufactured in the last half of 1965, 1966, or later.
