A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. You know that's the first time I've actually seen the carbine pouches holding M1icon clips. You can tell immediately. I tried it and it didn't work well, so I thought it might just be a fairy tale.

I believe the early carbine pouches were not cut for Garandicon clips . The later ones were . I believe there is also a carbine pouch made with a partial stich across it near the bottom. The carbine clip rests on the stiches , a M1911 clip fits between the stiches and rest on the pouch's bottom.

I believe those combination 1911/carbine mag pouches were U.S.iconM.C.
