Since there are so many W&S scopes around without the scope feet, I believe there would really be high interest in reproduction mounts (not the scope bases, but the "feet" of the scope). Especially with the M1908 scope, most of the scopes are missing the bases and could be recompleted.
But first of all, congratulations to that high end reproduction. Looks really great!

Wow very impressive piece of work Saltflat! Did you reproduce the eyecup as well? What material did you use if I may ask.
Very impressed you accomplished all this without shop drawings --KUDOS!

Jim, the reproduction eye cups are available from Hayes Otoupalik.

First, thanks to all for the kind comments. A lttle secret regarding the eye cup--it is actually a piece of wood that I turned in the lathe. The non symmetrical part was carved by hand. Then some filler, primer, sanding, paint etc. At some point I will use this as a casting pattern to make a rubber mold and cast my own eye cup. Salt flat

Thanks Georg. I had heard that several years ago but wasn't sure if he still had them.

Superb. Mine is going on a 1909 Benet Mercie but now I am thinking I need an 03 Sniper rifile.

I picked one up from Hayes last week. May paint mine white. Not sure when they went over to the black. Same thing happened with car tires in the same period. They started adding carbon to the pure rubber and what happened is history.
