7mm Haenel carbine Any help please.

Hi,a friend of mine has one 7mm carbine,he called it a (Haenel)and comission 88. I dont know a thing about it. I collect 03's,and have just moved over from the Joustericon forum. He wants to find out how much to ask for it,high-low.He has two offers already, one for 1500.00 and one for 200.00,so you can see why he needs advice.I don't know if my e mail works yet but please help if you can.Thanks.Lee W. oakfarm1@localnet.com

The Model 1888 is 8mm. Haenel was one of the manfacturers.

There is a carbine on Gunbroker (see link) that appears to be a Model 88 made by Haenel in 7mm, that has civilian type proof marks. It could have been made that way or reworked by Haenel or someone else. In any event, look at the link and Google "Haenel 88" for some more hits.

    Why the question?

Does your friend need help to choose between 1500 and 200?
Seriously, IMOH he should take the 1500, quick!

Hermann Historica - Internationales Auktionshaus für Antiken, Alte Waffen, Orden und Ehrenzeichen, Historische Sammlungsstücke It appears to be one of these--7mm. There were also some for export. Value is from $500-$2000 depending on condition. Sadly, Bubba got to mine.
