    Arguable whether it is worth the money, but you could also have the barrel sleeved back .303". I would hazard a guess that the bolt in the rifle is from another No1 MkV, in which case, you should post over in the "match-making" threads as you have a 1 in 25,000 chance of finding it, or finding the rifle that needs your bolt!

    I don't think you can "sleeve" it back to .303...those liners aren't meant for high pressure cartridges like this.

    Why not sleeve it to .22 or one of the more modern rimfire calibre's like .17hmr then?

    Why? It would still be Section 1 and would help ruin the collector value of a rare(ish) rifle even more.

    With all the talk of the impossibility of sleeving back to .303, the possible journey to Canadaicon and .22 SMLE type rifles raise eyebrows on indoor ranges.
