Chiappa 9mm M1 Carbine
Just heard Chiappa is making a 9mm version of the M1 Carbine, to go with their 22 LR version.. Supposed to use Beretta 92 mags. Very interesting.

I have yet to see one. The .22s are available but, I can't seem to find the 9mms.
Also, if I remember right, the MSRP on them makes the colllectable M1s in .30 look like a bargain.

Beretta mags would be fine though. Wonder if they'll ever show up in Canada. Our supply of carbines is meager here anyways...

My question is why? What's to gain other then cost of ammo.
I like the historic value that goes alone with the carbine.

The ammo.
I have 3 .30 calibers now and ammo is higher and less available than 9mm.
I own a Suomi 9mm carbine and it just weighs too much to enjoy shooting a lot and I think that the M1 Carbine is a great size/weight for a 9mm Carbine.
Anyway, that's is why I would want one.

Because the only thing here in Canada that's harder to get then the guns is reasonably priced ammo. Import on the guns remains to be seen though.

I don't have any 9mm guns, but the ammo seems plentiful here locally, and only about $14 per box for name brands. - Bob

Back when Sten guns were allowed I had one. Fun to shoot, but I liked my M-3 better.
Hard to compare 9mm to 45 acp. Though Guide Lamp did make about 1,000 m-3's in 9mm. I've never seen one.
