Inland 390755 with what appears to be original SQ Block S flip sight.
Everything checked out on this carbine, except it having a Type II RO-Q Recoil plate and PM-IP Buttplate.
Type II OI Hi-wood stock has been refinished, missing CC, very partial Circle P proof under pistol grip. Hand guard has been replaced.

    Plenty of info, if interested?

Humped. Appears to be the classic coat of cosmolin and 375 degrees in the oven. Inland never put that sight on. Too many punch marks on the outside, and how do you explain the inside of the sight base side walls being beat up? Your chisel mark? Agreed, you can see it, but the alignment just doesnt jive, a portion of it is 'under' the sight base. Wont find this on an original factory installed sight.............Sorry Charlie, that dog dont hunt.

I've got one beat up about like that from "in the field" windage adjustments. The chisel staking is going to stay put, of course. - Bob

    gsp45,
    The carbine isn't mine.
    I don't hump carbines.
Inland did use some Sq S flips, but found in later use.

The current owner brought it to me so I could do a data sheet.
I took a number of detailed pictures.... both before being cleaned and after.
Your welcome to your opinion, but don't jump to conclusions just yet.

Title of my post, in which I ask:

Any ORIGINAL 6 digit Inlands out there with SQ S flip?

Inland 390755 with what appears to be original SQ Block S flip sight.
Meaning a REAL SQ S Flip Sight

From my notes on The Carbine Club Data Sheet:

Receiver: Rear Flip sight is the Square Block style S. It shows the type chisel stakes we find on right side dovetails on Inlands, but also shows fairly heavy drift marks on the sights base (both sides). I see no fresh signs of this rear sight being removed or installed. The bottom base between the dovetails has the same patina as the surrounding areas. I can’t say if the Sq S is original or a replacement from long ago. I took plenty of pictures of this area to try to determine if swapped, or if it could just be an oddity and original. Photo Link Included below

Other than the Flip Sight 'In Question' a PM-IP Buttplate, Type II RO-Q Recoilplate, a OI Type II Hi-wood that has been refinished and replacement S-HB Hand guard, This carbine looks very much correct per serial#.
