    B25 Ride Penticton BC.

A couple of pictures of flying in the B 25 "Maid in the Shade" in Penticton BC today. Great bunch of guys from the Commemorative Air Force, Arizona Wing.

My son treated me and we sat upfront and what a ride.

Great guys to talk to and in 2015 they intend to bring a B 17 which again will help empty the wallet.

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

Well it was a great experience especially as the people from the CAF were beyond gracious to deal with and so helpful. Many years ago my son and I were fortunate to fly in the P51D Reno Air Racer "Miss America" and our friend Joann Osterud was the pilot Todays experience was great, the people involved with it made it even better.

I certainly hope they return with their B17 next year as that also would be a real must do. Apparently the 17 is in Quebec and New York State this year. The dedication of all who are connected to this is great as it flies doing tours/fund raising from sometime in May till October which is more than I thought it would.

On of the guys present today is the retired fire chief from SeaTac airport. Ed and I forget his last name, what a great guy to talk to.

Overall one of those "never forget" moments in life.

I think I knew what the answer would be. We occasionally have a local visit by CAF B-17. I think I just added a ride to my bucket list.

I seem to recall that they have just found/recovered a wartime crashed RAF B25 in Italyicon. Identified it and the crew and recently buried them

Here's one we HAVE talked about... Dennis Copping: Body of war pilot who crash-landed in his plane in the Sahara may have been found | Mail Online

It wasn't the one though. Glad they finally found him though.

This may be the one you refer to Peter? This is an RAF Boston, which was a US issue A20 Havoc...they look close to a B25... BBC News - WWII bomber poet David Raikes is finally laid to rest

    B25 Experience

If you want to read about my B25 experience go to:
    http://www.usaf-nav-history.com/Stories/BombRun1.htm
I amassed another 6 1/2 hours of B25 flight time during this experience.
