Lots of improvements to the duplicator this last week or so. This last stock came off of it needing very little fitting and flawless.
I improved the master stock a ton. I raised the rails 1" to provide more clearance. I also spaced the master and blanks ahead 3" to allow finishing of the butts on the machine. I made new steel stylus' on my lathe. All the effort payed off, the test action dropped into this latest stock about 90% immediately, and not much longer for the rest of its drop in. Much much better.

Wish I was doing the Calgary show now this Easter, I'd guess you'll have some examples to show? You might be surprised how many orders you'll receive. You should be prepared to do LL, Lee Enfield #1 Mk3...who knows what else. I guess you need a good set to use for pattern though...?

Browning, I unfortunately won't make it again this year. Its right in the middle of two months of trade school. I'm really hoping to make it next year.
I'm going to start working on Lee-Enfield wood as soon as I have my other Ross stocks worked out. I have a pattern here for the LEC handguard, No1 MkIII* pot bellied fore stock and both hand guards as well as No4 furniture. The plan is to finish the Ross MkI,II,III, 1905-R, M-10, and R-10 stocks and then move into filler projects and components that can use the walnut scraps from the larger components such as Bren grips and carry handles, various handguards etc. Its a very good and interesting hobby!

It'll be work, but you can bet you'll make good money doing it.
