    Zelda 1942 Diamond T halftrack

I have been following Andy's progress on his halftrack, this is a picture of my beast, Zelda!
1942 diamond T M3 halftrack. I'm on the down hill run after 5 years into the restoration.

Beautiful machine. A half track is right at the top of my "cool things I'd like to have" list.

Fantastic work Spec4. But what is that half hidden, trucked away in the woods behind it. Is that another restoration project?

Great to see you here Don! Don has been one of the biggest help to me while restoring my halftrack, putting up with countless emails.
    Thanks Don!

Any differences between the two half tracks Andy and Don?

I simply can't imagine what'd happen to the suspension when that gun (thread 3) fires. The recoil of an 81mm mortar used to virtually destroy the rear suspension of a tracked 432 after a couple of weeks of live firing

We eliminated the M113 with the 81mm (US M125?) after a time because it would crack the hull from firing shock.

Peter, As far as the components engine, trans, tracks, suspension that is all the same. The M3 is the long frame, 10" longer then the M2. Also it has a rear door.

Oh the tarped off equipment in the back round is part of my other interest, railroads There is a 1923 Vulcan Diesel Mechanical locomotive.
