A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. OK, 16 sounded a bit long. Originals were 12 though so you'd get a bit more velocity...

Yep, that middle one stumped me. I just took a stab. And, now I know.

Jim, original Thompson barrels were 10.5 inches long (without comp)

Al, It is believed that the Model 1923 Thompson cartridge used the same 18 rd magazine as the Thompson shot cartridge

You guys really know your cartridges. Robert

When I was kid I used to memorize Cartridges of the World, one edition after another. I would literally wear them out. I have lost many cartridges from my collection over the years because of all of the moving and such. I am ready to build my collection back now.
    Thanks for the quizzes.
