    Polish m44

Picked this up yesterday at my local gun show. Got a really good deal on it. Are the stocks on these usually this rough?

No, not the ones I have seen. But if it's a good shooter and you got it at a good price.... enjoy! You can't beat the price of 54R.

That's pretty rough and don't try to take the bayo off. It's actually arsenal tuned to shoot straight with it on. take it off and it will shoot way left.

Almost all the Polish M44 I have seen are either unissued or pretty close to it.

I have a '55 and recently sold a '53, I loved them both. The 55 really likes light bullets, 123g 310, the 53 did not. Great workmanship.try zhooting with the bayonet out, I have had to really adjust If not. The '55, 1.5 inch at 100 with my reloads.

This is so true. My son's actually shoots better with the bayonet extended than it does folded.

That poor stock looks as though it went through a blender. Shoot it and have fun! They are one of the funnest rifles to shoot and on the cheap also At dusk they double as flame throwers!

If you find yourself crowded at the range (many shooters and tables close together) touch off a few rounds down range and you will get some room.

I'll second this. Had mine out yesterday. Huge difference even with spam can stuff. Was getting 2-3" groups extended, shotgun pattern folded. Tighten your action screws and extend those pig stickers boys!!

I had an equally ugly Polish M44. It was odd because as many point out, these are typically in great condition. I believe my dad paid $69 for it back in 2004 or 2005? The bore was pitted but he didn't care. He used it to get into deer hunting for a few years before he got something with a scope.
