    1942 Long Branch restoration

Probably the last one I'll do, given the hard time I had sourcing decent walnut stock and properly "LB" stamped hardware, but I just thought I'd share my last restoration project. I saw this puppy at an auction. It was all numbers matching BUT it had a PH5C target sight WITH the 6 position iris that (I'm told) has the insert to accommodate a corrective lens. I picked it up a very decent price ($345.00 CDN) all in. It looks like it had been set up as a target rifle and it had been very well taken care of. The metal work and especially the bore were beautiful, so the bones were good as a restorable piece.
To make a long story short, over time I picked up all the correct barrel bands and stock pieces. I refinished the wood, cleaned an lubed all the metal work, and now you can see the "before" and "after". Enjoy.
