I believe Winchester used the solid gas cylinder lock screw for the duration of the war.

Thanks, Jim. Any idea what it looked like? Did it have any makers markings? Slotted or cross slot? Can't find any info on it. Thanks, Skip

I believe Winchester used the poppet valve screw in the Win-13 series, after serial number 1.6 million. The 2.3's had the single slot solid screw.

I have a Winchester single slot...and for the record, it's gas cylinder lock screw, the other is gas cylinder lock screw relief valve...it's unmarked except mine shows machine marks. My Springfield is unmarked and doesn't show machine marks. That's not a hard fast rule though.

And yes, apparently the Win 13s in early '45 had the gas cylinder lock screw relief valve...

I should be tempted to agree with at least the two showing machine marks...but since RCS says it's so, I'd not argue.

Jim, I think the blue screw might be DuLite ? which might indicate Winchester ? do not know for certain. Robert

Agreed, your opinion is good enough for me. You've seen (and have) more than I have.
