CBC does a number on Ronnie the Bren Gun Girl.

So... on what I believe was 20 Nov. the CBC radio show "The Current" did a typical CBC piece on Ronnie. By "typical" I mean poorly researched and complete with the corporate spin re firearms. The 'host', Anna Maria Tremonti introduces Veronica Foster with the following stellar bit of quality CBC "journalism" : " Veronica Foster, the attractive young woman wearing overalls, her hair in a kerchief,assembling...[ wait for it ]... a ' SAVAGE LOOKING ' machine gun".
What more can I say... and they wonder why their budget keeps getting cut. Also a thanks to Son of Ronnie for his excellent post in the 'stickied' thread the Bren Gun Girl.Ronnie your mom is a true inspiration for all of us!

All in the name of sensationalism and journalistic slant. Attract viewers at all cost...even if it's a lie.

Roger that Jim...who was it who said something to the effect that if you repeat a lie often enough the 'public' will come to believe it ?? Come to think, it may have been 'Joey the Crip'. I guess we can take comfort that the CBC has learned from the 'master'.

    Regards, Steve K.

If she was working on a mk1 Bren, then there is no way that it could have been described as "savage". With the curves, woodwork, and superfluous machining on such a specimen, it could only be described as a gorgeous work of art. Perhaps a mk2 gun could fit the CBC description, but never a mk1.

In the two photos below, she is holding an early mk1 Inglis bren with the long flash cone flashider, butt marking disc, extendable bipod, and both the butt grip and the shoulder strap. It just doesn't get any better than that.

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?
