No. That's an L2A3 or something with a can on it. SOF pic from Rhodesia or some place close. We didn't use cans.

It looks a bit like a Canadianicon gun and magazine from the shape of the finger guards. Just scaling things up a bit on the photo, the bloke certainly wouldn't be sighting in on anything as the can will be blocking the sight line! Annanuvverfing....... the bullet will still be travelling at above the speed of sound unlesss he's using sub sonic. Annanuvverfing......... If you thought the DeLisle silencer was a fragile fitment with rods etc etc (it certainly was.....) then the one on this photo if a dire fitting! Just my view.

As a matter of interest, the L34 silencer was a good fitment with a 3 'milking stool' rod fitting (crap end nuts but we soon fixed that problem) and we also had a machined bore to silencer to end cap running gauge too.

Yes, I knew people would say "But the finger guards...!" That's not a Canadianicon gun and can. That pic appeared in SOF waaaay back in time. And Peter's quite right about it's serviceability, or lack of. I've used the L34 and it worked fine. Better with modern heavy sub sonic ammo...(147 gr)

Looks like a C1 SMG with a suppressor attached.
I've looked at that picture for several years and have come to the conclusion that it's an Model Gun Corp (MGC) blank firing "Mk5" "sterling" judging from the vertical projection (blank firing barrel fixing bolt) above the magazine housing and the squared shape of the handguards.

They look spot on for the one pictured. That and what Peter stated about the bulk and lack of engineering involved would all make sense.
