New member, new 1942 Long Branch No 4 MK 1*..and Parker Hale carry handle?

Hello, and first of all, THANK YOU for a great forum!

I recently purchased a 1942 Long Branch No 4 MK1* that looks to have never been used or arsenal refinished, it was packed in grease. Bolt head looks unused, no import marks on receiver or civilian marks on end of barrel.

So far, to me..everything looks good except the magazine, which does not fit this model.

What are your thoughts on it?

It also came with a Parker Hale "carry handle" (I read the thread about its usage )
Anyone interested in the handle? I really do not have a use for it in my collection, and would rather have one of you guys get it instead of listing it on an auction site.

    Thanks!

Nice New Zealandicon owned Long Branch. I've had quite a few of the NZ rifles over the years and they are usually near new condition except for one I still have that's seen a bit of honest service and is one of my favorite shooters. Enjoy.

Er......... the NZicon on the butt socket should be a good giveaway! Sorry...., but it is New Years Eve!

That carrying handle is only PART of the kit. The thing came with a wrap-on/around bipod thinggy too and a gas rattle. These bits combined would make a rifle into a realistic immitation of the then new Bren Gun coming into service. Not an Army issue thing but purchased from unit funds

    Um..DUH! I *THOUGHT* it was an "N" "1" "7"....

Looking at it now, I guess it is "N" "broad arrow" "Z"?

The stamps are not stamped all the way since the metal is curved :P

    Thanks Again!
