I just took down my 1876 Prarie Belt and got the cartridges that I had put in a seperate box. They are all Merdan primed and are for"C" carbines. 55 of them. Mostly dated around the 1880s. My question is that there is a "F" at 6:00. What does that mean? Federal?
Whay would be the average price for the round? I am thinking of selling the belt and ammo seperately, Belt has the name of J. Newman carved into it. 2nd Cav--Troop E

Thanks Pat! Now I have to figure out what the belt is worth, cartgridges, and maybe my dog head belt. I understand that was a hunting belt.
I saw a Prariie Belt go for $1,850 at Cowens auction! But in better shape then mine.
