I have a box or two left. Haven't seen any for sale in years.

Whilst we're on the subject of CZ52's how common is it to find one without a mfg. date or Czechicon acceptance stamps?
And one more thing. Is there a reliable source for load data available for the 7.62x25 round? I just don't trust the internet stuff I've been seeing. There's no mention of pressure test equipment having been used in it's development.

I just checked with Sellier & Bellot (Czechicon made ammo). They have a brass cased. boxer primed load loaded to original Czech specs. Rated at from the pistol at 1850 FPS, with like 660 ft lbs of energy! That's las good or better than the 30 carbine from an Automag III! Even with the 1700 fps H110 load and a 90 grain Speer Gold Dot HP, it would be NASTY!!!!!!!

Sellier Bellot - Pistol and revolver cartridges

Hmmmm. That's new to me! Every Czech pistol I have seen has had the two digit date code next to the crossed swords.

Same here. The date code and acceptance stamp usually appear heavily struck so I doubt they were obliterated during rebuild. Friday afternoon pistol?

Nice! I love the CZ52. Sort of the progenitor to the 357 Sig

Accord to an article I read the Russians were less than impressed with it's terminal performance during WWII. It was not a very effective round. Post war testing revealed that the small speedy bullet remained very stable in soft tissue and tended to travel on a straight course through a body unless it hit bone. It took numerous hits to incapacitate an enemy. IIRC the amount of soft tissue it was capable of penetrating when fired from a SMG length barrel was something on the order of 52''.

The hollow point loads with 90 to 100 grain bullets at 1500 fps+ should perform well. Hornady is supposed to have an XTP that is awesome. I could see loading the mag like my AR mags: HP (MK262 MOD1 77 OTM) and M855 (62 grn penetrator), or my AK mags: HP ( Sapsan 124 8M3 "fragtastic") and FMJ (Chinese steel core). alternated every other round. I'd do a 90 grn HP in the spout, and then alternate between steel core and HP rounds in the mag.

Of course, my main defensive carry weapon is either my Glock 19 with 15+1 of Gold Dot 124 +P, or my Taurus Millenium (non-pro) with 10+1 of the same load.
