    Krag carbine range report

    I went to the range today messing around with 2 loads at the 25yard bench and both loads pretty much took the center of the bullseye out with a 6 O'clock hold,so I took 5 rnds to the 100yard because it was getting a bit dim out,and here are my results...

    Here are My 100 yrd groups;

    Group A: 150 grn Hornady FMJBT,38grs IMR 4064,Primer WLR,Cases were resized .303 british HXP,C.O.L.=3.09"
    2 shots= 2.07"group @ outside edges, hit high

    Group B: 150 grn Sierra PSP,38.7 grns IMR 4064,Primer=WLR,cases were resized .303 Britishicon HXP,C.O.L.=3.07"
    3 shot group=2.17" @ outside edges, high and right hit
    I like this old gal!

    Looks fine, I have yet to shoot my carbine and doubt it will do so well. My other one(school gun) shoots well enough so that'll do. Fun too.

    Not bad considering the increased jump to the rifling the bullet would have with .303 brass.

    'Humperdink': You have great eye-sight if your point of aim was 6 O'clock on the purple hand drawn circle. (Gosh, I remember when my eyes were that good)!

    Ha ha,I do have 20/20 vision,and was holding at 6 on the 25yrd,but I couldn't see it at 100,so I just aimed where I"thought"it would be on the paper at 100

    If you use a larger bull at 100 yards that allows you to hold a uniform sight picture the groups will shrink - IMHO.

    I like a steel gong at 100 and I don't worry so much about my group. I just used some factory 180s and they had substantially more smack than my lead gas check loads...nice to calibrate with once in a while.
