    I can completely believe that, make no mistake. Peter receiving one from Cyprus (?) and your info. I just didn't see them. I did however see a #5 rifle in service near the wall of Nicosia and an MP38 and a Lanchester out in Ormaphita fields, among the other obscure and historic stuff we saw. This is not beyond the realm of reality. I just didn't see it. Instead, I saw everything else... It's right along the lines of what the Turks did.

    I'm not a bayonet expert but if Turkeyicon only bought 100.000 G1's and afterwards they followed the Germans example and adopted the G3 as their official service rifle, there can't be that many of them out there.

    And those are the very G1s I saw over there in Turkishicon hands. They however, had not one spot of finish left remaining...
