    Anyone fired an EAL???

Seems like an odd question I know.
I have the chance to buy one but I'm a wee bit leery. Reason is that i have a Parker Hale sporter with a raised monte carlo style buttstock AND a Santa Fe Sporter with a similar stock. i both cases the comb of the stock is high enough to actually make shooting a bit uncomfortable with the iron sights. As the EAL is somewhat rarer and more expensive than one of these i sort of want to ensure that it won't be similarly uncomfortable to shoot also.

I've fired about three or four of mine and they are not bad at all.
They have less recoil than the No.5.
I collected and have shot a fair number of the EAL's before I wrote the short treatise on the EAL many years ago.
Most of mine will be up for sale shortly, as I start to downsize a bit.

oddly the uncomfortable bit was on my cheek not the shoulder. I think it might be the shape of the buttstock more than the height. My cheekbone had to press directly against the top of it to get my eyes on the sights. You are in Canadia are you not Warren? Thus the cost to get one of your EAL's down here in the lower 48 becomes uneconomical. Thanks Government.

I've shot them too. As far as I was concerned, they just felt like a .303 sporter...nothing better or worse. Many times you'll find the recoil pad is gimped up and that doesn't help.
