    Unknown Disctinct Unit Crest

I've looked through hundreds of pictures online but can't seem to find anything resembling this. It measures 1.13" high by 0.99" wide and looks like enameled silver, although there isn't a "Sterling" mark on the back. It has the image of a lightning bolt over a wheel near the center top, a pine tree in the lower-left corner, and a star in the upper right. I found it mixed in with a bunch of Britishicon regimental hat badges, but the pin resembles USGI. Any thoughts?

A couple of things here. First off, from my limited exposure to US military insignia I have to say the safety pin affair at the back is wrong. All the US pin on insignia excepting medals have had straight pins and keepers to help keep them pointed along the designated axis. Secondly, I have doubts that that is a lightning bolt since most if not all lightning bolt representations have the bolt striking downward while that appears to be striking upward. Lastly, there is the question of that little 'thing' in the lower left quadrant that one can only guess may be an arrow but really looks like a p****s. What on earth is that?

While it is a pin, I suspect it wasn't an authorized military pin.

But yet again, what do I know? Not much.

With the Cedar tree in the bottom left I would suspect that this might be Lebanese.

And the rifle in the circle appears to be an AK47 - upside down! Unless it's a Bren gun with a top mounted mag.

I can't find the badge but I can tell you a couple of things...the clutch pin was in use during WW2 and here are examples. Patches and Distinctive Unit Insignia Also Paul's theory of the double pin is correct for at least more recent badges, the ones I took from Ft Wainwright Alaska in 1974/5 are of that variety. I'm not sure this is foreign, but if you look at ROK shoulder badges, they greatly resemble US issue.
    Regards, Jim
