Inot wishing to hijack the thread but would also be interested in a spare 7.62 magazine for my L39.....if you never ask then you'll never get..LOL

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Many thanks for all of your replies. Food for thought. I have assumed that my mag is the 303 but I have not checked it. Will do so. The fact is it has never fed consistantly. I have been adjusting it and it seems better, thougth is still tempermental.

Try an Indian 2A1 mag or even one of the "aftermarket" clones of these that have popped up.

MUCH cheaper than "the real thing" and once "tuned" and adjusted for the No4 action, they work OK.

Original for "Show", clone for "Go".
