    My new 91/28 carbine

Hey everyone. I picked this carcano up off of a good friend of mine last weekend. His grandfather had left it to him and since he nor his wife are into guns he wanted me to come take a look at it. I have always known that his grandfather had served during the invasion of Sicily and there is some chance that he brought this home from there. It was made in 1929 at the Terni arsenal and is all matching and has no import marks on it anywhere. There was a sling on it at one time but from what I was told his grandfather got rid of it since the leather had deteriorated and could no longer be used. I offered him $100 for it and he took it without trying to negotiate. He was just happy since his wife was wanting him to bring it to one of those police "gun buy back" things and get some cheap gift card. Hope you all like it and all comments are welcome.

Certainly better here than piled in the property room waiting for the shredder. Now, to get shooting it...

Jim I'll be bringing it to the range next time I head up there to shoot. I already have a couple of clips and about 100 rounds or so for it so it should be ready to go. I originally wanted to use that stuff to get another Italianicon rifle I have up and running since it was a rifle my great grandfather brought home from ww1 but I guess it can stay a wall hanger for now.
