Stock disc ID question on a MkI***

    Hello all,

I just picked up this SMLE Mk I*** from a local gunshop. It's one of the CR pre-fixed rifles, BSA, dated 1906. The stock ID disc has four S' stamped into it. Any idea as to the significance?

    Thanks

You can rest assured that it has absolutely no UKicon Military significance

Not commonly seen on Irish, which a CR is.

You do see N on those discs occasionally.

would you consider sharing the characteristics and serial number? I keep a database of these rifles.
