    Savage No4 Mk1* sporter restoration. Lots of pics and range report.

    Here is some pics of a Savage/Stevens made No4 Mk1* I restored recently. Matching bolt and receiver. This one had a few Faz parts on it but I had some "S" marked parts kicking around to throw on it. 2 groove barrel that shoots pretty darn good. Hand guards are NOS and color matched pretty close, I may try to match them up better in the future. Fore end is Faz marked but has a non-matching Savage XXCXXXX serial number on it.

    I pulled one shot on the test firing (as per ususal) or it would have been close to a 2 MOA grouping.

    Gun looks fine and the target's passable. Now you can zero since it's grouped...

    Thanks for sharing your treasured old girl and bringing her back to her glory days. It always makes me smile when I see what loving care can do to an old relic. You are a fine example of a restorer/shooter that appreciates both aspects of an historic gun.
