Thanks for the info.. When my dealer retired, he had this one in the basement. Also had a LNIB Manurhin. Cost me $2500.00 for both and I don't regret it for a minute.

Great acquisition, congratulations, is the barrel original to the gun?

I always tell my collector mates to put originality at the top of their priority list, originality isn't something that can be restored. I've never seen a 1911 I didn't like.

The pistol likely was originally lend-leased to Russia. I own a few in the same serial range with the German proofs that are known to be Russian lend-lease examples.
