    sporterized 1903 stocked by...

Bought a sporterized Springfield 1903 from online auction on gun auction.com from a shop in So Cal. Lyman 48 and nice walnut stock, I thought it to be a Bishop stock. After disassemble saw writing in stock channel then stampings on but end under recoil pad.
    MADE BY
    E W EVERHEART
    APT 65 PACHUCA HGO
    LOOPER 2 10 49

The stock channel says "stocked by" above name and "LOOPER"

Pachuca is the capital of the state of Hildago Mexico.
The checkering looks hand done, but the inletting looks to be semi by machines then possibly hand finished. The SN is 1237909 and the seller listed it as made in 1922 barrel date has a ramp sight on it though the month is 8 and last digit edge looks like a 1 or edge of a 7 so could be re barrel.

Nice interesting 1903. Would be intriguing to know its travel history from US to mexico then back.

Barrel is in nice shape and should be a great shooter.
