If'n it was me , I'd have that bolt back and the safety rotated to the lever pointing down.

Notice he has an M1 slung behind him. If it is posed, maybe that's his real weapon and the Thompson is borrowed for the shot. On the other hand, I had a neighbor who carried both on Iwo... the Thompson went up the hill with him as his squad raised the first small flag. Ted Folari was still up there guarding the perimeter when the second, famous flag was raised behind him.
Real men measure once and cut.

But...where's the buttstock for the Thompson? I've had my share of T guns and I think that one's had the butt removed. You'd be able to see the toe of the butt under his arm.
